Alan Hansen has admitted that he got his 'you can't win anything with kids' Manchester United claim dramatically wrong.
The former Liverpool defender made the infamous comments on Match of the Day in August 1995 after United, managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, lost 3-1 to Aston Villa.
United had a number of young players in their team at the time, including the likes of David Beckham, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes.
Hansen's comments were widely ridiculed at the time, and United went on to win the Premier League title that season.
Hansen has since admitted that he was wrong about United's young side, and he has praised Ferguson for the way he developed them into a world-class team.
"I got it badly wrong," Hansen said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph in 2015.
"I thought United were too young and inexperienced, but Sir Alex proved me wrong. He turned those kids into a great team."
